In this harried world we live in, we are often too rushed to see what nature puts right in front of us. After 25 years in advertising, I know this harried pace of life as well as anyone. That's why I like to explore a different way of looking at the world.

Black and white photographs change our perspective of the ordinary. Light and shadow create a different mood and change the way we observe the world. I love to explore the things that are so fleeting that they are easily missed. The way light falls on the commonplace and makes it special. The sky that lasts a fraction of a second. The way time and weather conspire to create an extraordinary texture. The miniscule detail that's so easily overlooked. These are things that make a difference between the mundane and the sublime and that's why I love to work in large format. The process itself forces me to slow down, to wait, to consider, 

to see things in a new way.

My hope is that as you look at my work, you feel a tranquility, a quiescent change of pace. That you come away with a slower heart rate. That you've been shown something that rewarded you for the time you spent with it.
